Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Introduction
The challenging Bolton Business School MBA programme is designed to inspire and support you in the development of your business and managerial skills. It will enhance your awareness of the many different perspectives relating to the study and practice of management. The Bolton MBA will give you the knowledge, skills and detailed understanding that will enable you to develop as a bold, creative business leader - and make a positive and valuable contribution to business performance in whatever roles you undertake.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years work experience in a business or management capacity.
Applicants must also possess: a degree/postgraduate degree or equivalent, and/or NVQ level 4 in Management or Professional Development Certificate in Management Studies, and/or relevant postgraduate qualification (optional).
Applicants without the above qualifications may be considered for entry onto this course if they have substantial management experience.
For applicants who have not studied their previous qualifications in English a TOEFL score of at least 575 (written)/230 (computer-based) or an academic IELTS score of at least 6.0 will be required.
Subjects to Study
The Bolton MBA involves the study of 7 modules and you will also produce a research-based dissertation. The modules are:
- Management and Leadership
- Managing Finance
- Managing Business Performance and IT
- Managing People
- Managing Change
- Strategic Management and Marketing
- Research Methods
- Dissertation.
Each module is worth 20 credits except for the dissertation which is worth 40 credits.
Assessment is by essays, case studies, reports and presentations as well as the practically based dissertation.
To obtain an MBA you are required to achieve 180 credits.
